Booking Terms & Conditions

WAYNA PERU EXPEDITIONS E.I.R.L. • RUC: 20527713405
Version January 2026
Please review our official terms and conditions carefully prior to completing your reservation. By paying your deposit to Wayna Peru Expeditions, you signify your full agreement and acceptance of these operational policies.

1. Bookings & Deposit Requirements

To confirm any tour or trek with Wayna Peru Expeditions E.I.R.L., clients must provide a completed booking form along with a non-refundable deposit of $200 to $400 USD per person (depending on the trek or package).

Deposits are strictly required to purchase non-transferable and non-refundable entrance permits for the Inca Trail, Machu Picchu Sanctuary circuits, and train tickets (PeruRail / Inca Rail) issued under the traveler’s legal passport name and number.

2. Final Balance Payment

The remaining balance for your tour must be paid at our central office in Cusco at least 48 hours prior to your scheduled departure, or during your mandatory pre-trek briefing.

We accept cash in US Dollars ($ USD) or Peruvian Soles (S/ PEN) with bills in good condition (no tears or markings), as well as major credit/debit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express) subject to standard merchant processing surcharges.

3. Cancellation & Refund Policy

Because governmental entities (SERNANP, MINCETUR, Culture Ministry) enforce strict non-refundable policies for Inca Trail permits and Machu Picchu entry passes, the initial deposit is 100% non-refundable and non-transferable under any circumstance.

  • Cancellations 30+ days before departure: Deposit retained; remaining balance refunded.
  • Cancellations 15 to 29 days before departure: 50% of the total tour cost refunded.
  • Cancellations less than 15 days or No-Show: 100% of the tour cost is forfeited.

4. Health, Altitude & Physical Requirements

Treks in the Peruvian Andes reach high elevations (up to 4,630m / 15,190ft on Salkantay Pass and 5,036m / 16,522ft at Rainbow Mountain). Travelers must be in good physical health and disclose any pre-existing medical conditions (cardiac, asthma, joint injuries).

We strongly recommend arriving in Cusco (3,400m / 11,150ft) at least 48 hours before the start of any multi-day trek to allow proper physiological acclimatization.

5. Mandatory Travel Insurance

All travelers joining hiking expeditions or adventure tours must possess comprehensive international travel insurance covering medical expenses, emergency mountain evacuation, trip interruption, and baggage loss. Proof of policy must be presented during the pre-trip briefing.

6. Itinerary Changes & Force Majeure

Wayna Peru Expeditions prioritizes traveler safety above all else. In the event of unforeseen natural events (landslides, heavy storms, river floods) or social strikes/roadblocks, our lead guides reserve the right to alter routes, stops, or departure times to ensure group security.
